On Saturday morning I got myself up and out of the house in order to join the neighborhood women for the monthly breakfast. I was the youngest one there, but it was fun to socialize, and really fun to order just for myself. The simple pleasures you appreciate as a mother.

The rest of the day was spent cleaning, organizing, and cleaning. Then we did some more organizing and a little more cleaning. The mother cat and her kittens (and their fleas) were returned to our neighbors who asked Gary if it was okay to leave the mother outside while she was at work during the day. Pleeeeze! Did I mention that they are hoping their other cats gets pregnant soon and they want this mother to have one more litter because “she makes such cute kittens.” We are open to comments regarding the moral and ethics of taking a cat that doesn’t belong to you to be spayed. Does knowing that the owner wants it to get pregnant matter?

On Sunday we went for a great bike ride to try out my new trailer. It was fabulous! Matthew enjoyed the ride, and it was the first time we were able to go on a bike ride with the entire family since becoming parents. Later we had to run to Sam’s club to intercept certain stalkers intent on finding out what was purchased for $1.91, which has since been reduced to $1.61. At that price it was even harder to stop myself! We later enjoyed salads and ice cream with the stalkers while the children ran around unattended.

Joshua and I went out today to get some paint for his new room and we found a super cool rug that will go great! It is exciting that it is almost ready for him to move in. Gary decided that we needed to remove the heaters to get out all the paint chips and dust from behind them. A good idea but yet another snowballing project. I just want the room done so I have a place to put all the crap from the bathroom remodel so I can start working in there.

The whole house smells from the primer. Kilz. I believe it does.

Today I went in for my x-ray and blood work. My hands are still covered in paint. Kilz to be exact. The person registering me for the x-ray looked at my diagnosis of “molar pregnancy” and I am assuming only understood the “pregnancy part asked in disbelief, “They are sending you for a chest x-ray?!” She was clearly searching for more information from me but I didn’t give it. Then the person performing the x-ray asked if I might be pregnant. Duh.

I then made my way over to the lab where the phlebotomist looked at the paint on my arms and asked if I was getting the nursery ready. Uh, no. She then suggested that I be very careful with the paint fumes while pregnant. I gently told her that I am not pregnant. She asked, “Just checking to be sure?” referring to the orders for a HCG level. I explained that I was pregnant but it was a molar pregnancy and I need to monitor the HCG for the next year, to know if it begins to grow back. She had never heard of such a thing. I know that I never had, but it is annoying having to explain myself over and over just to get simple medical tests. I guess it isn’t as bad as being told it was “my lucky day” on my way up to the birthing center. I’ll bet that woman felt bad upon finding out that the baby had died.

I am hungry and would like to prepare dinner, but I feel like it is a pointless attempt. The kids won’t eat anything, and Gary can’t eat anything so what’s the point? Maybe I’ll have to start preparing two meals every night. Augh, one was hard enough. What to do?

Today Gary thinks he should sand and urethane the floor in Joshua’s room. Will it ever end? I am going to let people eat peanut butter for dinner so I can go finish the painting and move Joshua into his new room before Gary has any more ideas!

We were not stalking you. (We needed ink for our printer, anyway. ) You are the ones who followed us to Sams Club. And what is so exciting about that $1.61 item anyway? And why is it for you, but not Gary? It really seems more like a family thing. Although I can see why nobody would get excited over it.

You should buy an very inexpensive book about cat care or pet care that has common sense spelled out throughout and give it to your neighbors.

Anonymous didn't score well on the reading comprehension portion of our test! The only time I fed the cat was after I brought her into my house and out of the cold so she could birth the remainder of her babies without them dying from exposure.

The cat lives next door. Where exactly is it going to "move on" to?

Duh, right back atcha baby!
