DEAR LOCAL FURNITURE STORE,

SCREW YOU! I will never again even step foot into your store. As hard as we try to shop locally and avoid box stores the conversation I just had with you changed my mind.

Love,
~Me

Here is the call:

Me: Hello, how much do your crib prices start at?
Mean person at furniture store: Uh, well, they are, hold on...well, what price range are you looking for?
Me: preferably low
MPAFS: Then go to Walmart
ME: Excuse me? (Attempting to ignore his rude remark) How much do your crib prices start at?
MPAFS: GO TO WALMART!
ME: So you are not even interested in pursuing my business? I would like to buy a crib!
MPAFS: If you want a low price then you should go to Walmart! Our cribs are convertable!
Me: AND WHAT IS THE PRICE RANGE OF THOSE CRIBS!?!?!
MPAFS: OUR cribs are convertable...
Me: AND WHAT IS THE PRICE RANGE OF THOSE CRIBS?
MPAFS: They start at $599.
Me: THANK YOU! (not said in a gracious way!) GOODBYE!

Why one earth couldn't they just answer my frigging question? We have given business to them in the past on more than one occasion, but I swear, I will NEVER buy another item from this store.

This is almost as rich as when I tried to order some yarn from a local yarn shop and although they took my order and said nothing about time, when I went back a week later to give them more details on the color I was hoping for they told me it would take "a really long time" and after my insistence at a time line they told me 3 months and suggested I go to a different yarn store. Ridiculous.

As Jen so eloquently put it, as customers we are saying, "Here, I have some money that I would like to give you" and they say, "Now's not good. Go away, and come back later with your money".

Seriously, local retailers, buy a clue with the profits from your overpriced merchandise. Walmart is looking appealing. Yuck.

Oh man, I can't believe that shitheel at the furniture store! I was amused that I could totally hear your voice as I read the conversation and I know EXACTLY how you said "THANK YOU!" :D
