About Me

I am the mother to 6 children and former foster mother to 2. I am passionate about whatever it is I am passionate about, until I change my mind. I dream big, plan big, and once in a while I even make it big. We are planning to take our freak show on the road. Join us as we embark on a new adventure!

We arrived in New York on Tuesday after a long drive. We left at 10 and didn’t arrive here until after six. We had fun on the ride though, giving Gary a gift to open every forty miles and playing bingo and eating cupcakes. The kids strung up crepe paper all over the car. The cashier at the fast food window remarked that we were driving a very festive van! It was a traveling party.
When we got to the mountain there were huge party signs that ready “Welcome M… family!” and “The party is over here à ” and balloons and happy birthday banners hanging on the deck. Patty met us out front with big hugs and led us into her amazing log cabin. She had it fully stocked with all the best food and cooked us chicken cutlets and potato salad for dinner. She really did have everything ready for us. To celebrate Gary’s birthday she made him some wheat free brownies and gave him a gorgeous pocket watch that had belonged to her husband.
The kids have been having a ball swimming in the hot tub and scooting around in her golf cart. She has also gone out of her way to have all kinds of fun games and toys for them to play with. Patty is amazing with the kids and they made an immediate connection. She is so easy going and I haven’t once heard her place a limit on them. When the kids found out that she would be leaving they were very upset.
Last night she had gifts for the rest of us, robotic things for the boys, a golf set and books for Matthew, a fairy outfit for Katherine and an entire set of punch letters for me. I think that she is either a mind reader or another stalker! Wow. She cooked for us again last night too; homemade sauce, meatballs and sausage, and ziti. It was AMAMZING! Everyone had seconds and wanted more!
We have decided that Patty is our Fairy Godmother and wonder if I might be dreaming, however I don’t believe that it is possible that I could be dreaming if I am not sleeping, and sleep in the only thing that I am wanting for at this cabin as Patty keeps me up talking until 2 am or later. She is a very bad influence! We had fun emailing my Dad with “I hate her, she smells like cheese and the children are loud, obnoxious and rude! You owe me big time!” and “What the hell were you thinking? Thank God she is going home tomorrow!” He responded to both of us “So glad that you are hitting it off!” Damn. We really did get along great. I love her! She had to go back home today and we were all teary eyed. Even the baby was upset that she was leaving. Then she pulled away and the kids asked, “Now what do we do?”
She left me with her lap top so I am able to update the blog and receive email. He computer is so cool that even with dial up it is faster online than the high speed access I was getting at school! I really don’t know what to do now that Patty has left. It just isn’t a party without Patty!
